ANALYSIS OF WORK TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNICAL FACILITY OF VARNA FERRY COMPLEX AND CHOICE OF METHOD FOR ITS MODELING
Mikhail Rangelov, Mirena Todorova Intermodal terminals, such as the Varna Ferry Complex, are crucial for the transport infrastructure of both sea and land routes, especially in transport hubs like Varna, where they provide a link between different users of the transport service. Our research focuses on optimizing technological processes, including handling freight wagon flows, document processing, and cargo inspection as a border station, bogie changing, and organizing the operation of shunting devices. By mathematically modeling service scenarios and using optimization algorithms, we aim to improve the efficiency of operations at the Varna Ferry Complex. An analysis of possible methods for modeling the technological process has been conducted. The operation of the station and its technical equipment is presented as a mass service system. A structural diagram of the station, consisting of subsystems of the mass service system, has been developed and presented. The specificity of the Ferry complex - Varna - the presence of a railway network with different track gauges (1435 mm and 1520 mm), which necessitates specialized operations for changing bogies, cargo handling and efficient organization of shunting activities, is reported.
