Located in the heart of Europe, Austria has one of the highest road densities in Europe and is well positioned when it comes to trans-European freight road and passenger traffic. Its well-connected position in Europe and its proximity to Eastern Europe play a crucial role when it comes to infrastructure and the transportation of goods and people.

The logistics sector in Austria is developing at a rapid pace. On the one hand, the reason for this is the strategic location of the country in Central Europe, and on the other hand, the increased amount of cargo passing through the country in recent years. The total volume of freight passing through Austria in 2021 and 2022 has increased by 2 billion tonnes/km or around 5%. In addition, the domestic production of raw materials, whose transportation and processing also contributes to the increase in the logistics sector, is increasing.

The purpose of the report is to analyze the logistics industry in Austria and present the opportunities for training, pay and realization in this field.
