A STUDY OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF SIEMENS INSPIRO SF METRO TRAINS IN REAL OPERATING CONDITIONS

The Sofia Metro is the main transport artery of public urban transport. The third metro diameter (Line 3) was built with a completely new technology for traction power supply (overhead contact system with a voltage of 1500 VDC) and a telecommunication system for train traffic control (Communication-Based Train Control - CBTC), ensuring a fully automatic mode of operation of trains. Line 3 of the metro is serviced with new high-tech rolling stock - Siemens Inspiro SF metro trains, which are especially manufactured for the Sofia metro. These trains are three-carriage and represent one indivisible articulated subway train.

The paper presents the results of a study conducted on the energy consumption parameters of Siemens Inspiro SF metro trains in real operating conditions on Line 3 of the Sofia Metro. The experimentally obtained data on energy consumption are analytically processed and presented in tabular form. Based on the obtained results, an analysis of the main energy indicators of Siemens Inspiro SF metro was carried out and relevant conclusions were formulated.
