STRENGTH CALCULATIONS TO WHEELSETS FOR PASSENGER BOGIES

The quality of the transport process, the protection of the life and health of passengers, as well as the storage of the goods transported depend directly on the condition of the bogies, including the quality, reliability, reliability and durability of the wheelsets of the railway vehicles. In recent years they found a number of failures due to insufficient wheelsets their carrying capacity, presenting in damage and cracks of fatigue in the individual elements. Classified methods for calculating the strength of wheelsets wagons are specified. The rigid wagon wheelsets calculations were made for prototype recycled wagons produced in 1972 in the former German Democratic Republic in the variant wagon for the needs of international passenger transport and DVJ Gorliz Va type bogies, the wheel set being designed for high speed movement and prototype sleep wagons with Y-32 type bogies, production of TUVASAS, Turkey. The forces loaded on the wagon, the bogie, and the wheelset are determined. The strength calculations of two wheelset variants were performed using the Finite Element Method using the Solid Works 2010 software. Von Misses stresses are within the tolerance limits for the selected material and for two variants of modeled wagon wheelsets. The high tension zones are in the transition of ”axle - dust” (fillet radius), ”dust – wheel seat” and in the wheel arch diaphragm. It is recommended to perform defectoscopy in the hazardous areas at each entry into the depot of the wagons.
