The paper presents the problems connected with the methodology of the study on the locomotive weight force distribution onto its wheels. The aim is to decrease the static load of wheel to the minimum determined by the arrangement of the mass centers of the body and bogies, which has been marked as a condition of the best spring system regulation. The technology of the spring system regulation by an electronic measuring device and software developed especially for the purpose is described as well.
