The paper presents the results of the study on the structure and micro-stiffness of low-alloyed steels for producing tools after laser hardening. The stiffness obtained is higher than the one obtained after the ordinary hardening. The depth of the layer hardened is 0.5 mm and the deformation is minimal. The data have shown that the laser hardening is appropriate for implementation in manufacturing industry.
