From the early 90"s of last century, the political, economic and institutional changes in Bulgaria affected all aspects of life, including water resource management The economic approach to the use of water should be extended for various reasons. On the one hand it is necessary rational use of water as a commodity, on the other hand it leads to waste several environmental impacts such as rising levels of groundwater, salinization and soil erosion etc..Regulated and legal distribution of water supply to individual water users can be achieved through the construction of various hydro devices.

To establish a simple, proper use of terms consistent with contemporary international metrology in Bulgaria have been adapted and validated several international standards (ISO). The standard - ISO 9826 for measuring flow in open channels with water meters troughs "Parshal and SANIIRI" (Water flow measurement in open channels using "Parshall" and "SANIIRI" flumes)

Water measurement flume "SANIIRI" gives opportunity for measuring a wide range of water quantities.

At that report have been calculated the investments for building various dimensions of the SANIIRI flume.
