MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL OF KEY PARAMETERS OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN BACKUP POWER SYSTEMS

Network power backup is mandatory in many areas of human life. This is the case in transportation, energy, telecommunications, in industries where electronic control systems are used, in households, and so on. The component with the highest cost and shortest lifespan in backup power systems is the rechargeable battery. All of this s its parameters to be continuously monitored and controlled. This can be done at the location where it is located, a solution that s responsible personnel to be present daily. Another option is to use solutions offered by the Internet of Things concept. It provides opportunities for various objects to communicate with each other, to be monitored, or controlled by people using the internet network. This allows the status of the battery and the backup power as a whole to be remotely controlled. Thus, the backup power supply provider company can ensure reliable and longer-lasting operation of the rechargeable battery. Data can be collected for each battery, analyzed, archived, and stored for a selected period of time. This can help prove a defect to the battery manufacturer or provide feedback with potential recommendations. The article examines a specific monitoring system. Its block diagram is given, the algorithms of the individual modules are explained, and the measurement schemes for the various parameters are described.
