THE IMPACT OF EU COHESION POLICY ON INFRASTRUCTURE IN BULGARIA
Kiril Stanev The EU cohesion policy is a key instrument for modernising infrastructure in Bulgaria, stimulating economic growth, improving social welfare and reducing regional disparities.
The European Union`s cohesion policy has also had a significant impact on infrastructure in Bulgaria, especially in the field of transport. Financial support from the EU, which is implemented through various programmes and funds such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), supports projects to build, expand and modernise transport infrastructure. This s roads, railways, airports, metros, ports, etc. EU cohesion policy encourages investment in Bulgaria`s transport infrastructure to improve the connectivity and efficiency of the country`s transport system. Through the targeted use of EU funds, Bulgaria can become not only more prosperous, but also a more sustainable and cohesive society.
