With the increase in the prices of energy resources, it is necessary to introduce measures that lead to optimal consumption of electrical energy in railway transport. A large number of electric locomotives from the state and private carriers are mostly with indirect, non-automatic control of traction force and travel speed. This makes it possible to look for measures to improve the technique of driving a train by locomotive drivers with minimal consumption of electrical energy. The psychological state of the locomotive driver is also of essential importance in the management of traction rolling stock. For this purpose, the psychological indicators of candidate locomotive drivers are examined. The results of an analysis of 8 candidate locomotive drivers, who have different degrees of qualification and age, are presented in this report.
