DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE ROAD SECTIONS OF THE THIRD METRO LINE OF METROPOLITAN EAD
Dimitar Konov, Lyubomir Sekulov The study of the energy efficiency of individual road sections refers to the electricity losses that are part of the operating costs. The design of individual road sections of the Metropolitan and their subsequent operation under different conditions s knowledge of the basic specifics, patterns and features of both the road section itself and its power supply and operation by rolling stock. The presence of many variable and constant parameters, such as weight, speed, acceleration, inertial motion and braking, as well as the lengths of the sections and the way they are powered, the road profile and curves, determine the need to develop a method for determining the energy efficiency of road sections.
The subject of this report is the development of a method that would be useful in both current operation and future decisions on the extension of the Sofia Metropolitan routes. Also this method could be used for other railway sections of surface electric transport.
