In Russian terminology of freight forwarding, the terms перево́зка, доста́вка, поста́вка, тра́нспорт, транспортиро́вка and транспорти́рование have in their meaning a common semantic component ‘cargo movement’ and form a synonymous series. The component analysis of their semantics showed as well the presence of differential components. Based on this, we can conclude that they are in a relationship of incomplete synonymy. Possible reasons are borrowing and considering the concept of ‘cargo movement’ from the point of view of different professional fields – freight forwarding, logistics and trade.

The Bulgarian equivalents of these terms also form a synonymous series with incomplete synonymy: пре́воз, доста́вка, транспо́рт and транспорти́ране. The indivisibility of some concepts in Bulgarian terminology is the reason for their expression in one term (‘доставка – поставка’ – доста́вка and ‘транспортировка – транспортирование’ – транспорти́ране).

The identification of the differential features of the listed terms, as well as the results of monitoring the frequency of their use in both languages – Russian and Bulgarian, is extremely important for determining the scope of concepts and for ensuring their equivalent translation into Bulgarian when compiling a special translation dictionary.
