The paper treats some questions of macroeconomic regulation, relating to the development of the transport market. It focuses on the state as participant in the regulatory process of the transport market in Bulgaria. At the same time the paper considers the inequality in the conditions of competition between the different kinds of transport, requiring more effective state intervention. The need of macroeconomic regulation is underlined, related with the Bulgarian fiscal policy and with the integration requirements of the European transport system..
