Central banks around the world are working on various projects to introduce digital currencies. The introduction of digital currencies has several major advantages over cash, but there are also significant risks in eliminating the available money. If the digital currencies of the central banks are used in combination with the carbon footprint or social rating, it would violate many of the human rights of the users. In different countries, digital money is at a different stage of adoption, but the entry of a digital euro is expected by the end of 2023.
