DEVELOPMENT OF PASSENGER INTERMODAL TRANSPORT IN THE EU AND BULGARIA
Sevastiyan Stavriev The development presents the guidelines for the progress of intermodal transportation in the European Union and Bulgaria. Their significance on the environment is presented and the reduction of transport costs and the time d to perform a certain transport service. Information is presented about the trans-European transport network TENT and the prerequisites for its development.
The intermodal transport present the improvement and development of passenger transport, using two or more different types of vehicles to carry them out. In modern terms, the challenges facing the EU in the transport of passengers open some questions that need to be solved in order to increase the quality of the transport service offered. The continuing development of the trans-European transport network TENT creates conditions and prerequisites for the development of intermodal transport, the provision of more sustainable transport and greater transport connectivity between the member states of the union as well as for the internal transport of passengers.
