TESTING OF THE RECUPERATIVE MODES OF TRAM MOTRICE PESA 120NaSf ALONG SEGMENTS OF THE TRACK POWERED BY THE ‘MOTOPISTA’ CURRENT-RECTIFIER STATION IN SOFIA, PART III
Martina Tomcheva, Lyubomir Sekulov This survey explores the consumption of power for the tram line running along the Bulgaria Blvd., Sofia, which is powered by the ‘Motopista’ current-rectifier station. The electric transport vehicles (ETV), which run along this segment of the track are tram motrices (TM) of the model PESA 120 NaSf, which have the option for recuperative braking. The TM provide transportation service coverage for lines Nos. 7 and 27, which pertain to the Sofia public transport network and are managed by Sofia Electric Transport LLC. The experimental testing was conducted under normal exploitational conditions over the period 7-25 July, 2022 in the territory of the ‘Motopista’ current-rectifier station. Current measurements were made (direct and reverse) in 6 feeders (‘Manastirski Livadi’, ‘Todor Kableshkov’, ‘Nevestina Skala’, ‘Metlichina Polyana’, ‘Emil Markov’, ‘Shiroka Laka’), powering three sections of the tram line along the Bulgaria Blvd. in Sofia. The measurements of currents were taken in real time, over full days, for each section, and voltage measurements were taken at the common power bus. Records of the values were made within a sampling period of 100 ms. The main purpose was to determine the power consumption within these segments of the track in relation to the mode and the scheduling of ETV movements, as well as to determine the amount of the recuperative energy used in the different modes.
Part II of the report deals with the results of the full-day experimental testing. Current measurements were made in the feeders, which power the surveyed sections. The moment maximum and minimum values of currents were identified. The average daily direct and reverse currents through the feeders were established, as was the time for recuperation use, the used recuperative power was calculated. The used and consumed power ratio was established for the sections.
