ANALYSIS OF RESULTS FROM OPERATIONAL OBSERVATIONS OF A TRIAL SECTION WITH PRE-STRESSED REINFORCED CONCRETE SLEEPERS WITH PADS UNDERNEATH THEM
Dimitar Andreev In recent years many leading companies such as voestalpine VAE Sofia, Vossloh, Getzner and others have begun to offer reinforced concrete sleepers for switches and for the railway track, with assembled pads of processed tires for protection the ballast from destruction, for increasing the bearing capacity of the railway superstructure, for reducing the operating costs and extending the sleepers life.
