AN APPLICATION OF THE COMPETENCY APPROACH IN TRANSPORT COMPANY

In the report is applied the competency approach for regional unit “Train Traffic and Capacity Management Division with regional units in Sofia” on government-owned enterprise “National railway infrastructure company”. It is done an analysis of the personnel and on this basis, the key positions are determined. For the “Train Traffic and Capacity Management Division with regional units in Sofia” the key positions are five in total as some of them are the following: Train Dispatcher, Head of railway station and Head of regional center.

For the five determinate positions in the “Train Traffic and Capacity Management Division with regional units in Sofia” there are developed competencies. These competencies are divided in basic, specific and management competencies. There are presented with name, deion and conduct.

The competency model can be used for effective management of the human resources in the same way as a source for education of the operating personnel in government-owned enterprise “National Railway Infrastructure Company” in correspondence with the introduction of new technologies and digitization.
