The quality of the railway vehicles running is determined to a great degree by the values of the resistance forces in the spring system performed by the dampers of oscillations. As it is known the minimization of the dynamic forces accompanying the movement of locomotives and wagons requires the presence of resistance forces with certain values. That imposes the usage of a method, equipment and software for processing the information obtained about the operation of a relevant damper. They have to be characterized with greater preciseness and a possibility to accumulate a certain amount of information in order to identify the characteristics of dampers with certain accuracy. The mentioned above is a reason for the authors to present information about a stand, equipment and software for examinating the characteristics of liquid dampers of oscillations that are able to meet the requirements mentioned. The software gives a possibility to do diagnostics of the condition of the main dampers elements.
