The purpose of the work is to demonstrate the development of the public transport for the period from the beginning of its operation until 2019. It marks the types of public transport, its appearance, progress and modernization during the marked period.

The analysis of the bus transport, its growth and modernizations are described in details. The necessity of renovation is an obligatory condition for its successful development as a part of the transport system of city of Sofia. The bus transport plays crucial role for social and economic progress of the capital.

The work represents also the modernization process of the autobus transport for the period from 1998 – 2019.
