METHODOLOGY FOR DETERMINING THE AREA OF THE CONTACT PATCH OF A LIGHT AUTOMOBILE STATIONARY TIRE

Contact between vehicles and the pavement is achieved through the contact patch of their tires. The area of this contact patch depends on both the tire`s internal pressure and the vertical load of the vehicle. It is unknown, however, the extent to which a tire`s wear affects this area during various exploitative modes of work of the pneumatic tire. The goal of the suggested methodology is to determine the area of the contact patch of automobile tires during different loads and internal pressures in the pressurized tire.
