APPROACH FOR ADDING MULTIMEDIA POSSIBILITIES TO IMITATION SIMULATOR FOR RAILROAD TRAFFIC SECTION

Improving the quality and safety is one of the main ments for railway traffic. A decisive factor in this is also the professional competence of the operating personnel in addition to the use of modern technical and information systems. A key element for increasing the efficiency of the training of operating personnel is the use of modern computer training systems, which allow simulation through maximum compliance of the workplace and adequate modelling of the technological process for providing railway traffic (Train Dispatcher Railroad Simulation). This article addresses the issue of adding multimedia capabilities to imitation simulator for railroad traffic section. These are modules for 3D visualization and recording of conducted conversations. They extend the functions of the simulator, both in normal operation and in simulating emergencies, in order to increase the realism of its use, which is a prerequisite for the formation of adequate reactions in certain situations. Through respective functional schemes the implementation of the offered modules in the modular structure of the training system is shown. Sample scenarios for 3D visualization, modelling, displaying, testing and planning of interconnected functionalities in training of operational personnel are given.
