One of the main tasks facing the rolling stock of the Bulgarian State Railways is the improvement of the operational reliability.From the operating experience of rolling stock repairs, it is known that under existing operating and repair methods, after a certain period of time, wagons have to be repaired without regard to their actual technical condition. This prevents further wagon operation before entering for scheduled repairs, even though they have additional resources. Rolling bearings largely determine the performance of the rolling stock. Their technical condition depends on many factors.All this necessitates the necessity to find such methods and tools which would allow for a small waste of time and with the necessary precision to perform an operational diagnosis of the elements of the rolling stock rolling stock bearings in order to determine their actual momentary technical condition.The aim of this report is to establish the current technical condition of the axle roller bearings at the entry of wagons for scheduled repairs, to analyze the results obtained with the corresponding conclusions and to identify specific events for their subsequent diagnosis in order to prolong the resource.
