Boris Petkov The pump installation consists of pump and suction and discharge piping, reservoir, regulating and shut-off valves. When selecting a pump for operation in an installation, it is necessary to select the pump’s parameters to suit the needs of the system. The parameters of the pumps determine their characteristics, which are gained by experimentation, by means of special laboratories. Pump characteristics can determine their operating modes and energy efficiency. The graphs representing the dependence of the head, the drive power and the efficiency of the dynamic pumps determined at different shaft rotation frequencies are universal features (topograms).
The report presents a stand for testing dynamic pump, which enables the determination of the operating points of the pump with the pump installation in different ways of regulation. A methodology has been developed for conducting the test and building the universal characteristics of the pump.
