Mobility of people and goods is a strategic market which is the reason why the importance of air transport has risen significantly in recent years. Air transport offers time saving, flexibility and convenience in nowadays dynamic markets. Moreover it manages to meets the increasing ments of cargo transport, business and leisure trips. The article covers a survey and analysis of the major activities at Sofia airport for the period of 2011-2015 – these data on passenger traffic, cargo volumes transported, major route areas and companies used. Aircraft companies and destinations are both rated and top 10 ranked are listed.
