The paper determines the coefficient of the characteristic of locomotives operated in BDZ Ltd. The coefficients of using the traction force and speed of running of the electric rolling stock in a number of leading European railway administrations have been obtained from the real characteristics of the BDZ locomotives. The laws of regulation have been chosen and universal traction characteristics for DC, asynchronous and synchronous traction drive have been built.
