METHODS FOR ECONOMIC COMPARISON OF ALTERNATIVE PAVEMENT

Hristo G. Stamenov

The paper presents and examines the basic methods for economic comparison of alternative pavement structures. They make possible to compare both newly-designed pavements and existing ones under reconstruction. The analysis is focused on the most common economic instruments and supporting tools, which the main methods are based on or serve for decision aiding with selecting the type of road structure.
