The information on the movement of commodity flows is essential in structuring the Bulgarian economy, trade policy development, the transport sector as a whole as well asthe maritime transport. The international exchange of goods is influencing the general economic development of the country as well as the trends for the improvement of social and economic parameters.The paper is discussing Bulgarian commodity exchange and its importance for the maritime transport development. For the purpose the market flows towards the partner countries and divided into groups of structural commodities for the ports. Based upon the analysis the basic priorities for the development of the maritime transport and the Bulgarian port infrastructure should be determined.
