MONITORING ON RAIL TRANSPORT CONDITION IN EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

Mirena Todorova

The paper analyzes the condition of rail transport in some Eastern European countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia in 2013. It considers the indicators of railway network providing accessibility and comfort for passenger services and freight shipments. The changes in traffic and operators serving it are analyzed for a period of four years. The method of determining the infrastructure charges and revenues of infrastructure managers and railway undertakings is presented on the basis of implemented train kilometers.
