ALTERNATIVE WAY TO EVALUATE BEARING CAPACITIES FOR LARGE DIAMETER BORED PILES

Ch. Kolev, S. Maslarski

The article shows aн alternative way of understanding bearing capacity for large diameter bored piles. The piles are directly connected to the superstructure. The restrictions for pile slumps have to correspond with the superstructure.

In many practical cases, pile slumps do not correspond to ments for normal work of the superstructure. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss alternative way of determination of bearing capacity (in the context of the superstructure’s work).

BDS 2419-74 and DIN 1045 2005 regulations are analyzed critically in order to find the “best” way for determination of bearing capacity for bored piles.

In conclusion, an alternative way for determination of bearing capacity is suggested.
