This paper outlines the advantages of concrete pavements. A survey on geographial range in countries with long experience in the design, construction and maintenance of this type of pavement is made. Some peculiarities in the construction of roads, traffic load, durability, design life cycle, the materials used, etc. are briefly examined.

The countries surveyed use design, construction and management practices and strategies that provide construction and management of concrete pavements of long life cycle.
