Simeonov Dobroslav, Georgiev George The report examined traffic problems associated with intersections of circular type. Were tested standards, guidelines and practices of other countries in order to develop recommendations for building effective roundabouts here. Analyzed the speed of the vehicle merging and exit of a circular segment. An association between speed and horizontal curve. Presented are the geometric parameters of input and output flows with the corresponding advantages and disadvantages. Described are the most common types of accidents, highlighted the advantages of increasing the level of safety, a detailed examination of throughput and utilization roundabouts. Used are the latest methods for analysis of traffic flows based on a traffic count. Evaluated are: the summary volume of the mixture flows, blending ratio, acceptable empty intervals, d subordinate stream to in the circulating, hour maximum throughput, etc. ...
The survey can help planners in deciding the type of intersection traffic flows and use of traffic engineers involved in the determination of the throughput of intersections of circular type. Can be used as a tool to support policy to promote and standardize this type of intersections.
