RESEARCH ON THE MAINTAINABILITY OF THE TROLLEYBUS CONTACT NETWORK IN THE CITY OF SOFIA

The report presents a study of the maintainability of the section of the trolleybus contact network located at the Aviation Square in the city of Sofia. Statistical data on accidents for a period of ten years were used for the needs of this study.

For a quantitative assessment of the maintainability were calculated average downtime, average repair time and average waiting time.

Using of the regression analysis, it was determined to what extent the repair time and waiting time affect the downtime.

The results obtained provide a general idea of the maintainability and the overall condition of the researched section. They can be used as a basis for comparison regarding the reliability of the introduction of new modern elements for building of the contact network. This type of analysis applied to other key sections of the contact network will allow their classification in terms of reliability and will help in the overall planning and organization of scheduled repairs and maintenance of contact network in the city of Sofia.
