MAGLEV technology is a revolutionary approach to transportation in which trains move without contact with the rails. Instead of traditional wheels and steel tracks, the system uses powerful electromagnets that create two main forces: one lifts the train above the track, and the other pushes it forward. The absence of friction allows for extremely high speeds, exceeding 600 km/h. There are two main types of MAGLEV systems. Electromagnetic suspension uses the attractive force of magnets to keep the train at a minimum distance above the track. Electrodynamic suspension relies on repulsive forces and s the train to first develop a certain speed with the help of wheels before levitating to a greater height. In both cases, the movement is precisely controlled by changing the intensity of the magnetic field along the track. The advantages of MAGLEV technology are significant. In addition to high speed, these trains are quieter, wear out more slowly and are more energy efficient under extreme loads. They offer exceptional safety, as the design of the track virtually eliminates the risk of derailment. The main challenge remains the high cost of building the specialized infrastructure.
