This scientific article examines the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and the mechanisms for its financing within the context of the transition toward sustainable mobility. The main types of charging stations, technological ments, and factors influencing the establishment of an efficient and accessible charging network are analyzed. Particular attention is given to the role of public and private investments, European funding programs, and national policies aimed at promoting electric mobility.

The article discusses the challenges associated with infrastructural development, including high investment costs and the uneven territorial distribution of charging stations. Opportunities for the further expansion of charging infrastructure in Bulgaria are also presented. The study concludes that the sustainable growth of the charging network s coordinated efforts among government institutions, the private sector, and the energy industry, as well as the implementation of long-term financial and regulatory mechanisms.
