ECONOMIC IMPACT AND SERVICE EFFICIENCY THROUGH SATELLITE MONITORING OF CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY

Boris Tanev

This paper examines the key advantages of implementing satellite monitoring systems for construction machinery, with a focus on the economic benefits for businesses and the improvement of service efficiency through preliminary diagnostics performed prior to on-site service visits at the customer’s location. Preliminary diagnostics make it possible, when necessary, for the service team to bring the d spare parts when organizing the service visit, enabling the repair to be carried out without additional delays. In this way, higher efficiency of the repair process is achieved on the one hand, while on the other hand, minimizing machine downtime for repairs results in significant cost savings for the machine owner. The paper summarizes how the use of satellite monitoring in construction machinery management leads to increased profitability, reliability, and improved planning of downtime for scheduled maintenance activities as well as unplanned repair operation.
