DEVELOPMENT OF GUIDELINES AND GOALS FOR THE EFFECTIVE USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES AND MORE ESPECIALLY THE POTENTIAL OF WIND ENERGY IN RAILWAY TRANSPORT

Orlin Ventseslavov Popov

This paper examines renewable energy resources in railway transport to achieve neutrality in terms of the use of variable resources and reduce the negative impact on the climate and the environment. Renewable energy directives and the relevant prospects for successful development and increase in the share of renewable energy sources in the energy system are also compared. The focus is also on the effective use of renewable energy resources, and in particular wind energy in railway transport to power the railway traction system, which s traction substations, traction networks and electric traction rolling stock, as well as wind turbines. Specific goals are set for the effective use of certain energy sources.
