ANALYSIS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RECOVERY OF TRACTION ROLLING STOCK OF THE THIRD METRO DIAMETER ACCORDING TO THE PASSENGER FLOW
Dimitar Konov, Lyubomir Sekulov On April 24, 2021, the entire M3 metro line between the stations ”Hadzhi Dimitar” and ”Gorna Banya” will enter into operation. This report analyzes the energy consumption and recovery, which relate to the section between MS 305 - MS 314, the length of the entire metro line is 14.0 km, which s 15 metro stations. The energy consumption of the traction rolling stock in operating mode has been examined in relation to the current location of each metro train and the number of passengers in it. A comparison has been made between differently loaded traction rolling stock on the same route, at the same hour. The influence of the intensity of the passenger flow on the recuperation of the rolling stock and the dependence between the recuperated energy and the weight of the traction rolling stock has been examined.
The route is characterized by a maximum slope of 40 ‰ and a minimum radius of the curves of 2000 m. Energy efficiency depends on and changes on the main parameters, such as weight, speed of movement, acceleration, inertial movement and braking. Another main factor influencing energy efficiency is the length of the section and the method of their power supply, the profile of the road and the curves, determine the need to develop a method for determining the energy efficiency of road sections. The subject of this report is the analysis of the energy consumption and recuperation of the traction rolling stock in the section of the M3 metro line in relation to the number of passengers. The consumption data is downloaded from the metro trains, and the number of passengers is taken from the metro stations.
