RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS OF THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE “RECTORATE” BUILDING AT VTU “TODOR KABLESHKOV” – SOFIA
Lyubomir Sekulov, Martina Tomcheva, Irina Asenova, Valentin Gaydarov,Nikolay Velev, Borislav Tsvetanov, Hristina Spiridonova The study is aimed at the energy consumption, thermal and electrical, for the “Rectorate” building, located on the territory of VTU “Todor KABLESHKOV”. The ”Rectorate” building is an administrative building operating year-round, whose activity does not depend on the educational process. The energy consumption of buildings is a function of their purpose and is the main indicator for determining energy efficiency. It affects both the transfer of thermal energy and its accumulation, as well as the energy consumed for heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water and lighting. The energy obtained from passive solar systems and solar protection, systems from renewable energy sources (RES), (including pumps) also affects energy consumption and participates in determining the different energy classes. Nearly 90% of unrenovated buildings in Bulgaria fall into classes ”E”, ”F” or ”G” (with specific primary energy consumption 290 kWh/m² year). The energy building characteristic is expressed as an integrated indicator for specific energy consumption in kWh/m2 year. and has an ecological equivalent of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The analysis of the energy consumption of the “Rectorate” building would help determine measures to reduce energy consumption and increase the comfort of the administration’s working environment, as well as lead to an economic effect. The purpose of the report is to obtain the actually necessary energy to maintain the microclimate in the building with effective management of energy consumption.
