ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF INVESTMENTS IN RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE

Railway transport is a key element of the national transport system, and its development towards integration with European transport systems has a significant impact on the overall development of our country`s economy. Investments in railway infrastructure are crucial for achieving sustainable development goals and improving quality of life (Thacker, 2019). This report examines the benefits of investments in railway infrastructure, focusing on energy efficiency and economic growth. The subject of the study is rail transport, and the object of the study is the economic feasibility of investments in railway infrastructure. Some key performance indicators such as transport costs, productivity, and employment are examined. The positive and negative effects of infrastructure development are reported and a long-term vision for sustainable national infrastructure systems is presented.
