DETERMINING THE SPECIFIC ELECTRICAL CONSUMPTION. ENERGY FOR ELECTRIC BUS LINE E60 IN SOFIA
Peter Bodurov One of the most urgent and pressing issues in bus transport is environmental friendliness. This problem to be solved is particularly important for urban surface transport and is one of the main reasons for the introduction and operation of hybrid and electric buses for public transport.
In the current context of increasing need for sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport, electric buses are increasingly important in the transport systems of large cities. Sofia is no exception among European cities and both Sofia Bus Transport EAD and Sofia Electric Bus Transport EAD are actively introducing electric buses into their fleets to reduce emissions, noise and fuel costs. Two types of electric buses are operated in Sofia according to the sources of electric power, those with super capacitors (SC) and those with batteries. This report is devoted to the analysis of the specific electricity consumption for one of the electric bus lines in the city, line E60, this report is the first part and will be continued by other reports for the other electric bus lines in Sofia. The E60 electric bus line in Sofia connects the Central Station-Sofia with the Sofia Railway Station. Ovcha Kupel 2, passing through 34 stops on its route in both directions. The scheduled journey time is 49±2 minutes and is served daily in the time slot from 04:22 to 23:56 excluding weekends.
